Chamillionaire – Mixtape Messiah 7 [Mixtape] [UPDATE! w/ Disc 2!].

mixtape messiah 7, the final installment of chamillionaire’s extra trill mixtape series, has dropped on the internet about an hour or so ago. oh boy. it will also be made available to a limited 100 lucky fans only, in hard-copy form, along with a full-color 12 panel booklet and a crisp $100 bill. talk about marketing. this man needs to open up an agency and help these other rappers get their promo game up.
the hype over Mixtape Messiah 7 is wild, per usual. people out there don’t understand, he has some loyal ass fans out there. someone actually bid as much as $8,500 on a copy! says koopa: “100 percent of the proceeds from this EBAY auction will be given to NO MORE VICTIMS, a charity in Houston,TX. that helps children with incarcerated parents.”
there are 12 different ways to win a copy, so hit up cham’s blog if you’re interested. oh yeah, and this is only disc one. 26 songs. i heard there’s 4 discs. that means it could be 100 songs. oh, my, goodness. now you know why he’s my favorite rapper. he just doesn’t stop spittin’. he kills every beat on this first disc. as the discs drop, i’ll post them. listen to him flow over that “$100 millon” real quick.

Eminem – Infinite [1st Album Ever].

this is by no means new. it’s eminem’s first album, released in 1996. i figured, with all the people hating on the new album (despite it going gold in the first week) and saying he needs to go back to his original roots, why not show people how he used to rhyme. he was incredibly creative with the wordplay, but his mind had not reached dementia so he wasn’t making crazy songs that we all know today. let’s compare old em from ‘96 and today’s em from ‘09. you tell me which is better, and click the album art to download the album. also, check out my man kevin nottingham’s exclusive footage of eminem’s first ever interview here.

Wiz Khalifa – Flight School [Mixtape] + ILLVibes Interview.

yeaaah. this mixtape dropped a month or so ago. i’m fully aware of that. however, when it dropped, some thug (or thuggette, to be completely fair) had snatched my macbook and i was unable to acquire a personal copy. i had to download this on my roommates computer and play it on his speakers. whatever, though. it’s here for the taking, and i’m hoping you’ll jump on the wiz khalifa bandwagon after hearing it. it’s a solid mix of lyrical wordplay and swag music, and i don’t care how repetitive the content is, it will rattle your trunk all summer. download below, and tracklisting as well as a trill interview with him and my homies over at ILLVIbes after the drop.

“i doo doo, i boo boo, i poo poo, i sh!t on em.”
yup. thats the hook on this banger from gorilla zoe. i know this isn’t in the least bit lyrical, but it’s hilarious and the boy zaytoven, super producer of the century (according to gucci mane), laced the track. check it out.

Mike Posner – A Matter of Time [Mixtape].
mike posner…what do you think when you hear that name? maybe something, but most likely nothing yet. well, i’m here to edu(ma)cate u on the man. he’s a vocalist out of southfeild, michigan and he’s nice with it. this is the first mixtape of his that i’ve seen on the world wide web, but im looking foward to more. he has a few pretty vicious covers on here and some bangin’ original tracks. let me bless u with a preview…
this first joint is my theme song right now. it’s called “smoke and drive” featuring some solid undergound cats such as big sean, jackie chain, and donnis.

this track here is called drug dealer girl. i’ll let it speak for itself.

go ahead and grab this mixtape and put it in your rotation…while something else is in rotation (i hope someone caught that).

A.B. the Producer – Producer's Credit [Mixtape].

oh my lord. studio 43’s A.B. the Producer has delivered with this one.
this among is the most enjoyable mixtapes i’ve jammed in a while. i didn’t say the most technical, or the most ingenious. A.B. is a producer first, but as a rapper/singer/whatever you wanna call it, he’s definitely entertaining and can make some catchy songs. agree or disagree, i don’t really care. i’m all about those craaaaaazy beats. that’s what i live for. and apparently, so does A.B. i remember after i heard his “charisma” last year, i was beyond impressed with his production skills, but to see such tremendous growth in such a short period makes me pretty excited to see what the future holds. from samples to original compositions, he rocks every single beat. i even think some of these joints should be held for some A-list talent (meaning world famous, not like the artists on the mixtape aren’t good. you know what i mean!) if you ask me.
i really dig how the DMV artists all support each other. virtually anybody who is anybody on the scene blesses the mixtape with a verse. literally. you name them, they’re probably on it. yes, that means wale is on the joint. but so are raheem devaughn, lyriciss, marky, pro’verb, mouse, X.O., ra the MC, and a slew of other emcees and singers. you gotta check the tracklisting after the jump to see who else blesses the mixtape.
A.B., this joint cranks. great work. everybody needs this in rotation right about now. i’m throwing up a couple samples, just in case all these words didn’t persuade you to download it yet.
*note: you need some nice speakers to jam these. trust me. at least have some bass at your disposal.*

Did You Pick Up Drake's So Far Gone Yet?

if not, then click the above artwork to grab it. i know, i know. i was on Twitter talking reckless about the mixtape when i finished my first listen. truthfully, i’m always like that. so get used to that. just wait til i soak it all in before you take my statements on anything seriously.
it had like 50,000 downloads deep on the first day of its release…i haven’t seen any new artist get that many downloads on a mixtape since wale’s mixtape about nothing. maybe it’s because wayne is co-signing him. actually, i take it back. that’s exactly why he’s getting all this love. i’ve been a drake fan since the beginning (my man and i produced one of the tracks on his first mixtape, too.), and nobody was on him then. if you go back and listen to his first joint, he’s rapping just as ferociously. the co-sign just gave him mainstream attention, and that’s fine. because success is a mixture of preparation and luck. and he was ready when the spotlight hit him, so he deserves all this love. i think this tape is cool because it’s a mix of rapping and singing. drake’s versatile, almost like a musical magic johnson. oh boy, that comparison didn’t go over too well.
anyway, i figure you want a taste of what canada’s drake has to offer, right? well, here’s two samples.
the first joint is called “november 18th,” and drake (with a distorted, chopped-and-screwed flow) rhymes over the late and great DJ screw’s legendary “june 27th”, as a sort-of ode to the south, specifically houston (although drake calls both toronto and memphis his hometowns). i figured the H-Town representers would be mad if i didn’t at least provide the original for everybody to jam as well. so check it out here, and drake’s version below.
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
the second joint, “uptown,” is another ode to the south, and although i should probably give you all another track to illustrate his versatility, this one has that instant classic feel to it. plus, he is spittin‘, too. bun b and lil wayne join him on it, too. i find myself bringing back this track. repeatedly.

like i said, hit that album art above to get the mixtape. it’s solid.
