this is like a darker “swagger like us” in my eyes, and everybody went hard, but i think eminem’s flow alone killed the entire track. i think when people count you out so early (like they did before/after he dropped relapse), you gotta let people know you still run $#!t. no other verse stands out like em’s, at all. and i have no idea why lebron is on this artwork. but he is. embrace it.

lupe fiasco has been leaking old throwback tracks for a minute. this could be the best one i’ve heard. i feel like i heard this a while ago, at least a snippet, or maybe the original sample somewhere. his rhyme game and content matter was so different back in the day. definitely influenced by biggie’s flow on this joint. tell me if you co-sign on that statement.

on a somewhat related note, i lost all my lupe songs, so this is one of three i have in my itunes right now. oh well. enjoy it. and don’t ever try and tell me i gave up on hip-hop. this is some great hip-hop right here.

cudi came to our school and performed this. we were actually the first audience to ever hear this, because he had just finished it out in hawaii earlier that day, or the day before, or something like that. unfortunately, the acoustics in our arena don’t work well with artists, as people complained last week with lupe. nobody could hear his verse properly, but everybody was jamming to that hook hard.

then the next day, this joint dropped everywhere. and we could properly hear it all. and it’s crazy. ricardo was playing it all day in the room, singing loudly (and surprisingly, well. he shoulda been in an acapella group.) ‘ye as well as fellow chicagoan common add very solid verses. it’s cool how they all stick with their typical flow / style on this joint. they each stick with the structure, but make it their own at the same time. does that make any sense? i hope so. jam it.

i posted the song up back in august, and months later there’s a video. was that a good move for 88? you tell me what you think. the song is awesome; it’s kanye at his finest. and i like how 88 raps over the phone. the video gives me a completely different visual than what i envisioned, but now that i think about it, this is really the only approach you can have for this subject. ha. enjoy.
