It’s Friday, and Big Sean just dropped a pretty trill video last night for his freestyle over Gucci‘s “Lemonade”. Nobody has the song up, they just got the YouTube. So I decided to do you guys a favor and get you the mp3 before everybody else. Download at the bottom, but check the video directly below.

This is the kinda song that makes you say, “oh, ok. He’s actually kinda nice.” All punch lines and swag rap, but you know what? I’m all the way with it. Say what you will, but Sean is kinda nice. Some of the lines he says will make you scratch your head thinking about how he even thought about that metaphor. It’s some chill stuff, so don’t expect Wu Tang bars, but don’t think he isn’t rappin’, either.

That’s how I felt after he killed that Chip Tha Ripper joint “Fat Raps” alongside Curren$y. Speaking of Hot $pitta, he did his own version of the same beat. I’ll drop that below. Download both tracks below, and tell me who had the better version.

meet moshadee. newark, NJ resident, 1/5 of PFOP (one of my favorite blogs), and a man of many trades, rap being one. he threw me two flows over two of my favorite beats, jeezy’s “bottom of the map” and the clipse’s “i’m good”, so you know i had to show the man some love! he’s rappin’ out here and i respect that. look out for that mixtape, the progression, dropping mid-august.

guys, people definitely forgot about this beat. it’s one of the hottest hip-hop beats of all time, i don’t care who you are, you can’t tell me this simple-synth track doesn’t hit every time. especially those “OH! OH OH!” vocal effects. damn. some may complain that the original didn’t feature any really good lyricists. i disagree, it’s a classic, and everybody’s verse is perfect, even mystikal’s joint. you know you don’t know what he’s saying, and it’s still hot.

my bad. i got sidetracked. richmond’s nickelus F has decided to get lyrical for a good 4:30 straight on this joint. no hook. i played it on the radio show on wednesday, and people were confused, dazed, amused, and everything in between.

“rappers all surrounding me / the animal is out in me / you can add M + E, and wouldn’t amount to me”

he just vents and shows no relent. this is actually a crazy ass track. get it, ASAP. why haven’t we heard more from this guy!? first time i heard him was on a drake track from one of the earlier mixtapes, before d’wayne carter put him in the limelight.

some more grime music for you. a throwback for those who know me, but since there’s about 30,000 new people that come here weekly, i figure it won’t hurt to put you all on to this old gem.

whose better, devlin (the younger guy) or dogzilla? and after you figure out that, let me know if you think the better of the two could beat asher roth. yes, it’s because their white. regardless, i want to know what you think. these british guys aren’t ever gonna stop spitting, so major labels! get some more dizzee rascals on your labels!

goodness. ‘ye was almost a goner. and you know i’m right. that mullet fro joint? the suit with the heart? the album was cool, but was it the kanye west that we all loved to hate / hated to love? no, it wasn’t. luckily, this PYT that you see by his side, amber rose, saved him. and he’s back to the regular charisma [editor's note: i've substituted the word "swag/swagger" with either "charisma" or "appeal" at any opportunity that presents itself. complements to A.B. the Producer.] that he had when we first saw him.

and he’s flowing better than ever, too. check him on the Wake Up Show with murdoc and ahmad (from that classic “back in the day” track. remember that!? here it is.), he can’t be beat. he starts at like 5:05 if you’re impatient, and that could be the best freestyle i’ve heard in a long time.

wow! this is for my people from back in the day that put me on to the classic hip hop group, jurassic 5. remember the ultra baretone rapper, chali 2na? well, he’s still rhyming, and better than ever. check out what he had to say while chopping it up with G4 TV.

well hot damn. this clip captivated me all the way through. he seems like he’d be the coolest uncle or godfather. don’t look at me like that, you know you feel me. and while his freestyle is cool, his written verse is absolutely phenomenal. forget all those other rappers with this “swag” and rocking ice and nice gear! this is HIP HOP RIGHT HERE! and he’s so well spoken! before you try and chastise me for that previous statement, go watch cam’ron answer questions. he can’t speak for his life. sheesh. look out for some new verses from Chali 2na on this site very, very soon.

and who better but my main GUCCI! quinn was playing this on repeat in the room. i had to throw it up. listen to his verse, and tell me how horribly great it is. at the end, he even feels accomplished. and is he talking to somebody? because he starts to get kinda mad. name calling and pointing to somebody we can’t see off-camera. or something like that. i kept on hearing my man justin say the first few bars but i thought he made the ignorance up. LOL. no, he didn’t. watch!

quality youtube videos are lacking in the ’08. so i had to bring this back to life. plus, ricardo said he needed it in his life…with commentary. so here you guys go.

4 and a half minutes broken down:

0:10: “ey dea. it’s me again. ya boy marv-o.” his swagger is incredible. he ever so slightly rocks from side to side.
0:26: the introduction of the peanut gallery. my favorite is “steven jackson, action jackson.” but do you all see marv-o’s arms up on his homie in the middle!? he’s just maxing and relaxing. but it is still ridiculous. so
0:33: “y’all already know the rules, so we ain’t gon’ waste no time on that.” that’s what marv-o just said, right? then he proceeds to tell us the rules. he can’t make up his mind!
0:59: eli is hyped. but he’s not even about to rap. but he still pumps both of his arms like he’s about to bless the beat. good grief.

do i even need to say how classic envy’s flow is?

1:10 and 1:14: this is where it gets intense. envy calls eli a cripple. TWICE! and eli’s cool with it!
1:37: envy’s haircut is similar to boosie. but just like 30 times worse. find him a barber, immediately.
2:03: marv-o’s boo (yea, the dude he felt up 26 seconds deep in the video) gives a ridiculous pose. like, a “check me out, check my swag, i’m the man” type joint. but it’s so weak, and the camera doesn’t cut away. so he just looks extra lame.
2:10: envy is confused as to how eli curses twice and is still able to rap. marv-o tells us that any cursing will get you disqualified instantly.
2:17: eli has realized his dilemma and promptly stops flowing. i don’t think i’ve seen anyone this nervous. the music even stops at 2:26, and eli has to think of something, quick. oh boy.
2:48: eli gets right back at it, with a series of “yeaa” noises like a gucci mane or a jeezy impression. i won’t even tell you how good each of his lines are, just listen to it.
3:36: eli curses again, and is so hyped. they end the competition right there, and put a heart-shape over eli. why? i don’t even know. good grief.

oh boy.
