i feel like pharrell had an understudy make this joint for the former cash money rhymer, who always expresses his love for neptunes beats. this is definitely on that wavelength. it’s crazy, and i don’t know whose on the hook, but if i didn’t know any better, i would say it’s kelis…i’m probably wrong, but i don’t care. enjoy.

my man jamie from funkadelic freestyles over at GWU in DC keeps me very in tune with the local scene. his radio station is ridiculous, probably the illest on the east coast, and on top of that, he supports DMV artists harder than anywhere i know! he’s a trailblazer. that’s why he put me on these new tabi bonney joints, off his new album, DOPE.

on "radio," tabi recruits former cash money representative curren$y, and they both kill it. the second joint is produced by ski, the same dude responsible for a lot of jay-z’s reasonable doubt beats, as well as a rack of those early camp lo records.

random, but has anyone ever heard tabi curse!? i’m just asking. and wasn’t the first album so hot? or was that just me? ha. anyway, look out for the album is stores everywhere, as well as his video on MTV and VH1.

i know. it’s so hard to get somebody do download a mixtape from a relatively new/unknown artist. hot spitta, i’m not saying we don’t know you! but it’s reality; nobody wants to risk scooping around 15 songs that could all be duds.

i’m here to say that curren$y’s joint is certainly not a dud. weezy f. baby’s former right hand man comes correct, from the album art to the lyrics to the beat choice. i didn’t think he’d live out there without d’wayne as his co-signee, but he’s definitely standing on his own two so far. i heard two loosies off of the joint earlier in the week, and he did such great work that i had to see what else he was working with. click the album art or the link below for the DL.
