a few things that have happened in the last few days have inspired me greatly. conversations with great thinkers, unfortunate situations, and other recent experiences made me realize that i need to start focusing on future, and help my homies do the same. so i’m starting a new section called the great progression, dedicated to just that – progress. inspired by the great kendall corbin cones (yes, i put your entire government out here, homie) my e-mentor, PMD, and of course all you readers, the section will just be me throwing tidbits of info, nuggets of wisdom, and anything i can to aid in your progressional power moves, whatever they may be. i won’t be preaching or anything, so don’t worry. but whether you’re a high schooler, a grad student, an OG, i still think you can appreciate and relate. so without further ado, here’s the first entry.

yerp. the confessions of a reformed procrastinator. except, i’m not reformed at all. i’m the worst of the worst. ask my roomies. i sometimes don’t leave the room. for like two days. what am i doing!? i don’t even know. often, it’s not homework, so it’s probably not too important.

my mom shared this article with me like a month ago, but being the procrastinator i am, i never read it until just now. after reading it, i’m now out of bed, showered, and reading. so needless to say, it’s informative and helpful for even the worst procrastinators. if you don’t know, procrastination is fatal! really. so check it out here, and let me know what you think.

maestro knows is an online show based around levi maestro’s day-to-day life. hailing from in the city of angels, Maestro bounces from region to region, using his LA frame of mind as his compass wherever he goes. so far in ‘09, he’s been grinding heavily – i’ve posted a video of his before, when he was skateboarding with the air yeezy’s. well, he’s back, hitting DC and the A with his charm and grace. i wish one of y’all cmonwealth + stussy guys woulda told me he was in town so i could shake his hand and let him know that i appreciate his hard work. geesh. and i can’t forget about BJ the chicago kid, either!

i wonder how many breezies he gets with this stuff!? enjoy.

complex magazine’s latest blog post, entitled “the game: a history of beef”, illustrates why compton MC the game is so insane. he starts beef with every and anybody, so i guess conflict should be expected for the rap world’s biggest name dropper. i’ve been thinking of doing a tally of how many names he drops per song, per album. i may do it, although complex may snatch the idea because i already pitched it to one of their writers.

i’m just saying though. anyway, long story short, check out the in-depth examination of the game’s beefs here. it’s a great read, and is narrated with audio clips so you can hear how ridiculous / ill he sounds dissing some of these guys. cuz let’s face it, he’s not a bad rapper. he’s just indecisive. very indecisive.

wale went in on it and killed it (get that version here), but he only flowed for like a minute. theophilus london decided to go for 4 straight, and he also murders the track. they might as well make a US remix for this british track, because americans are jumping on it and owning the beat. if you had wale and theo on the first two verses, who would you wanna see on the last? maybe we can make it happen.
