Well actually, that’s just one flyer. 3,000 looks like this:
Shout out to all of the people who have shown love as far as spreading the good word. From the blogs to the tumblrs, from the publications to the tweets, from traditional (and frankly the most powerful communication method) word of mouth, we see it all, and are EXTREMELY appreciative. You have no idea how much you’ve done for us!
We’re aiming to sell this bad boy out. I think this is an important concert for DC. I mean, just look at the history of hip-hop events of this caliber at a vicious spot like the 9:30 Club. We don’t really have that here, and it sucks. I’ve been to concerts all over the country, and I never can quite seem to find something this awesome within the city. Like I always say. DC’s on the verge of blowing up; as Marcus Dowling would say, it’s in the “I told you so” phase, where people are finally realizing the potential and the talent we got out here. Events like this can stamp all of that. If it’s a win for the DC to BC team, I look at it as a win for the entire metropolitan area, and a pretty big step in the right direction. We aren’t mimicking. We aren’t copying. We’re merely fostering a subculture that’s long overdue in these parts, and it’s with the help of all the rest of the creatives, as well as those who support the creatives in some way, shape, or form.
We would love everybody who can support to come out and enjoy one of the most talented acts in hip-hop today kill one of the best venues in the nation. Grab tickets here, or find me or my teammates on the streets (literally), trappin’ like some damn fools.

Why Boston, you ask? Well, I spent the most awesome four years of my life there (BC stands for Boston College, you dope! What the hell are you here for if you didn’t know that!?), so it’s only right that I pay my respects.
I haven’t been back to Boston for a while; last time I made that move, it was a 24-hour mission. This time, it’ll be a full-fledged attempt at a proper Beantown power move. I’m covering all bases like Babe Ruth in his prime, dude. I’m talking everywhere from my alma mater to my old barber shop. I may even go on one of these:
I’m recruiting a squadron of go-getters to guide me in a land I now consider foreign. This will be the first time that Boston College isn’t my base (who wants to be that old guy who graduated years ago, right?!), so I’ll be forced to embrace the city as opposed to its colleges. I don’t even think I have warm clothes for this trip. Oh well. Let’s go. I got two cameras, no shape-up, and a whole lot of jokes to tell to these Bostonians!
If you’re out around that way, I’m there from now until early Monday. Hit me up – business, pleasure, or a combination of the two. modi[at]DCtoBC.com or @DCtoBC on Twitter Nation. Let’s get it.

if you don’t know, let me put you on game: college visits are the best part about college. simple as that. and UVA held me down this past weekend. i need to throw a thanks to everybody out there who made that weekend power move like twenty times more crucial than i expected it to be. a special shout out to my hosts, as well as all the people out there who support DC to BC, too! i didn’t know we had a UVA fan base like that. it made me want to step the blog up even more knowing that people actually like what you’re providing.
i’ll be back over there soon. and my kids will probably go there, too. i’m calling that early. so whoever my wife is will have to learn that. and quickly. oh, and shout out to remix, too. that acapella group is phenomenal. i couldn’t find footage from the performance i checked out this weekend, so i had to hit their archives and get some from last year. still crucial. check it out:
crucial. thanks again to the school founded by a slave-owning thomas jefferson. ha. i’m just playing. kind of.
and i’m there, baby. well, the university of virginia to be exact. let’s get it. thanksgiving started early for me. to my UVA squadron, catch me out here. dap me up, i’ll be rolling with mr. cones and beautiful ms. goldson, as well as my man palmer and the homegirl christina. let’s get it. commence theme music.

DL: fam-lay and krumbsnatcha – boston to virginia!didn’t know a song like this existed, did you!? well, it does. norfolk’s fam-lay linked up with beantown’s krumsnatcha to create this anthem. wowzers. perfect timing. i feel like they made this joint for me. for this exact moment. and just for that, i’ma support the VA side of the track and throw some fam-lay tracks and videos out there like frisbees. i’m not even sure if he’s a good rapper, but he has a bunch of songs i really like.
wow. do you see skateboard p stomping in place like that?! in the hood!? do you think anybody else could pull that off!? that’s why he’s the man. goodness. sampler available below. don’t sleep on it, cuz there’s a rack of gems in there. DL: fam-lay – DCtoBC.com sampler jawn. and speaking of fam-lay…where is he, guys? is he coming out with any more neptunes-laced tracks anytime soon!? somebody let me know.

streets of atlanta, georgia. i’m staying in cascades with my cousin for the long weekend, and i have less than $100. will i make it out alive? probably. what will be the most exciting event of my atlanta power move?
yerp. the musical geniuses that are N*E*R*D. as well as common sense and the wonderful janelle monae. HUGE shout out to dan the man for the free tickets. isn’t that crazy? the joints were free-99 . talk about lucky. you already know i’ll be there early with a poland spring bottle and 5 fingers in the shape of a star trak sign. anybody going to this joint, as well as those who reside in the A, hit me and do not $#!t me. let’s find some stuff to get into. i’ll be back in beantown on sunday. that’s 5 days to wreak havoc.
washington DC’s wpgc 95.5, home of donnie simpson and big tigger, as well as a rack of other local celebrities, just started HD radio channel to support the metro area’s talent.
no, i’m not playing. that means artists from the DMV can be heard 24/7 on your HD receivers and online. but we all know nobody has an HD receiver in their car yet. so i guess just online. and honestly, when i tried to jam it, it didn’t work out too well.
props to my man who runs goadome talk for being the first to blog about it.
ALL local artists should probably hit the crank radio website up for more info, but the important stuff is that they do not take music via e-mail. so you can either mail your music and press kit, or bring it to them, 9-5 at this address:
WPGC
Att: Crank
4200 Parliament Place #300
Lanham, MD 20706.
i’m making a power move back to the bean for a brief stint with boston george and a few classes. kinda like this guy:
you gotta play this song before you read all of this stuff. i like giving people theme music so you can see how i picture things. please.

shout out to everybody who made that last two months back home crucial. and shout out to tahir who says he checks the blog regularly, ha. and shout out to everybody who threw a party or a get together, because they were all vicious. shout out to nas vegas for the constant scoops and whip appeal. shout out to lenny for introducing me to beautiful howard women. shout out to mr. goode for just being the ultimate power mover and never loafing. shout out to cori for the gold’s gym connect, even though i’m fairly sure she’ll never read this. shout out to mr. freddie brown for running the city. and everybody else who was around and i kicked it with. yeah, i just gave some shout outs like the liner notes of an album.
whoever’s in boston, hit me up. i’ll be posted up like a mailbox in the dorms. jobless, whipless, girl-less. that means no real power moves, no dates, no new purchases or pick ups, and no late night excursions. just some A’s on the summer transcript. basically, in some woeful circumstances. and i’ll still be updating the joint on the regular.
oh, and someone let me know what the move is 4th of july.
the incredible rock n’ soul band red ink performs friday, june 27 at santa fe cafe in college park, MD. yeah, that’s right. that spot right next to the 7-11. i’ll be in the house, as well as my goons. yikes. that sounded so lame. as well as a few of my homies. definitely come out and support them. i hear that their live show is INCREDIBLE.
i know you need a taste (no brokeback, RIP heath), so check them out.

if you liked that, they have plenty more hits where that came from. hit them on the myspace to hear more. their set comes on around 11ish, so a little late, but it’s friday. and they got specials for days to get you nicer than mrs. doubtfire. or than the shy guy.
so essentially, friday night = santa fe @ college park night. a perfect way to segue into the carribean day festivities in DC. let’s get it. and get your vocab up. go look up segue on dictionary.com. educated out here. if you scared, go to church.

and i’m not even close to ready. i have no clothes, i have no planned moves, i have no idea of what i’ll get into. i don’t even speak french. i’m only there for like 5 or 6 days, so the key is dapping up any and everybody that i know that will be there. which is like 3 people. last time me and nas vegas went to paris, we met some nice girls in the eiffel tower. and the loved us, but we couldn’t speak french, and they couldn’t speak english. we communicated in a poor man’s spanish, because that’s the one language we all took in high school. and tell me why we told them we were 22, when we were like 18. they were 23! it was great. back in the days, man.
if anybody has power moves for me (and my brother, who left last week) to make in the city of love, let me know. i’m talking everything. people to meet, places to visit, stores to window shop in, cultural enrichment trips, and key phrases in french. described to me phonetically, of course. i’ll document the trip via photo and video and throw it up here.
next move needs to be tokyo. i’m just saying, though.
