There are no flyers as trill as this one. 9.11.2010. Let’s go. DYDC. The ConArtists Guild. DC to BC [me and my squad]. The Gee Pee [me again.].
Child’s Play. It’s a field day for adults that we’ve planned to coincide with the 9th anniversary of 9/11, one of the most devastating days in American history. We figure we’d throw something to get the community united, and raise money for a good cause at the same time.
Essentially, we just want people to come out and have a great time. Run around, enjoy yourselves. Show us how nice you were on the field in your prime. Meet new people. Play team and individual sports. Sure, it’ll be a little intense and hectic with all the people that’ll probably show up. But that’s why we got hella food for you guys, great DJs holding down the 1′s and 2′s (Tom Lim and Jerome Baker 3rd. Do I even need to say more?), and big names in the building (I can’t divulge who just yet, but trust me. We’ll have some people that’ll make you say, “Wow, those guys are here too!?”). We recruited renowned photographer Boney Starks flick flickin’, as well as my brother Jabari (who’s kind of a big deal – Google or YouTube him, you’ll see what I mean) controlling the crowd with the megaphone!
We’re working hard behind the scenes to make sure this event is a smashing success. I could tell you how little I’ve slept over the last two weeks getting this together, but that wouldn’t do anything but make you question my life choices.
Like we said, it’s for a good cause. All organizations involved in Child’s Play view September 11th, 2010 as a community service day amongst everything else. Your $5 participant fee will go a long way. A portion of the proceeds will go towards the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. Our goal is to raise enough to sponsor a cobblestone to be placed on the paths of the Memorial Plaza, a beautifully landscaped space surrounding the Memorial. For more info on the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, please visit: http://www.national911memorial.org/
All the info is on the flyer, but I’ll type it again just so Google can soak it up for the search engines. Yeah, that’s a Jedi Mind Trick I just leaked. Eat it up, guys.

I guess so.
Shout out to my man Leon from ListenToLeon.Net (literally the funniest blog I’ve ever read; I’m a loyal reader. If you’re from DC, you should read it. Hell, even if you’re not.) for reaching out to get this joint in motion, as well as my man Brandon with Usual Suspectz for actually bringing everything to fruition.
I’ll be at Park around 5pm today, August 26th, eating good with my man Freddie Brown, as well as the rest of the bloggers (some of whom I know already, others who I’m looking forward to finally meeting), so come check us, baby. All the info you need is on the flyer. Come through, I’d love to read any loyal readers / any people who don’t give a f*ck about DC to BC but want to eat and drink good!

Thanks to everybody for entering! I wish eveybody could win; unfortunately, that’s not the case. There’s just one winner, and his name isBryan Sona. I’ll include his winning e-mail in here, so you guys can see why he won. Read on:
Subject: WILL COOK FOR ROCK THE BELL TICKETS! (LAST MINUTE ENTRY)
“WELL, I CAN OBVIOUSLY DO BETTER THAN THAT (COOKING FOR TICKETS) SO THE PICTURE IN THE ATTACHMENT WILL SPEAK FOR ME. DON’T BE ALARMED, ALTHOUGH IT’S A BIT VISUALLY STRIKING. IF YOU HAVE DOUBTS ON CHECKING IT, FWD IT TO YOUR FAVORITE FEMALE COMPANION, HOPEFULLY IT CAN CHARM HER TO CHARM YOU TO DECLARE ME THE WINNER. I’LL PAUSE ON THE JOKES TO GET SERIOUS A BIT, I HAVE TWO FRIENDS WHO HAVEN’T BEEN TO A CONCERT BEFORE AND THIS IS MY SACRIFICE FOR THEM.
SEE YOU AT THE FINISH LINE.”
That’s the pic he included in his entry. Brilliance on so many levels. Well, more like tomf*ckery to a degree I’ve never seen before, but he went all out, and for that, he gets these two tickets. Congrats, Bryan.

Well, it’s your lucky day. I got two (2) lawn tickets with somebody’s name on ‘em!
You wanna win? I’ll tell you what to do.
1. Follow me (@DCtoBC) and @TheGeePee on Twitter.
2. Retweet this joint. The more times, the merrier. Just don’t go too HAM, okay?
3. E-mail me at info[at]DCtoBC.com saying that you’ve indeed done these things, and that you’d love the tickets. Give me a reason, too. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy, but just so I know you’re passionate about this stuff. You also should distinguish yourself from others, cuz this is really the only place to do that. Do something cool, like the guy who swallowed those worms for the Wale “Chillin’” tees a year ago. (Yeah, he did that for one of my tees. Ridiculous. Recorded that joint on Vimeo and everything. Check the archives if you don’t believe me.) Okay, not that crazy, but you know what I mean.

Got it? Good. The winner will be picked by the end of today, and will be notified via e-mail. I’m assuming there will be a rack of people who enter, so I’ll have to just wait until later to pick the lucky guy/gal.
We all know everybody can’t win, and that sucks. A lot. We also know not everybody wants to be on the lawn (although if you’re a partygoer / looking for an awesome time, I recommend it.). For you guys, just grab your tix here.

I don’t blog much anymore, so every time I blog, it’ll be for a momentous occasion. Like this.
What is Rock Creek Social Club?
The Rock Creek Social Club is an allegiance of like-minded individuals whose aim is to unite through a diverse social milieu representative of DC’s past and present. Combining the unique experiences and talents of each member, a straightforward connection is created with all those from varying walks of life wanting the Rock Creek Social Club experience. RCSC takes a limitless approach with all endeavors in order to remain relevant in the world of lifestyle events. Constantly changing yet often stagnant, we see it necessary to regularly tap the pulse of DC to stay abreast of “what the streets are talkin” to give the people what they want. The finer things in fashion, music, art, and design are of utmost importance within DC’s creative circle, while individuality leads the way. RCSC opens its doors to all, but affiliation is open only for those who live by these same principles.
So am I involved? Shrug. Who knows, man. But at the end of the day, the mystery surrounding this incredibly innovative “social club” has heightened the awareness of the entire creative collective in the DC metropolitan area. On Tuesday, August 17th, Recess Lounge will be transformed into a trillest house party in the city, and it’ll be the birth of a new scene in the nightlife world that’s teeming with the phony socialites with no bread to pay their phone bill but will buy a round of drinks with no problem.
It’s a more realistic, carefree night. Wear what you want. There’s no cover. There’s even an open bar from 9:30-10:30, sponsored by Belvedere Vodka. So all I’m saying is, if you want a change of scenery, some new faces to glance at, and to make Tuesday more exciting than it usually is, make an appearance. And if that didn’t sell you, this video should.

Well, that party was incredible. Thanks to everybody who came out to support, as well as those who tried but had prior engagements. A special shout out to those who attempted to get in after the event reached capacity; the Donovan House Hotel couldn’t have been any more unreasonable about that situation, but that’s a different story entirely.
Long story short, we packed the joint, people enjoyed themselves, and The Great Progression / DC to BC, LLC has pulled off another successful event. This time, we’d like to thank Christine and Allison of Lunchbox Theory for letting us jump on board with them, as well as my big brother Daniel of YEBies, who I wanted to get into the mix as well. The all-around diversity of people that we got to come out for this joyous occasion was incredible, for lack of a more fitting word, and I’m very excited to see what’ll be next as far as an event for the people who support this movement I like to call The Great Progression.
Check out the first of (hopefully) several short video segments that document this wonderful experience, shot (and flipped in record time!) by my brother Mike Sanchez.
Feel free to throw this video around, embed it, and pass it to people who you know were there, but don’t know that this footage is available. The Gee Pee. Coming soon.

The Great Progression is at it again. Me and my DC to BC, LLC team jump on concerts, while my project, entitled The Great Progression (or “The Gee Pee” for short) focuses on the good times. You saw our last cookout, right? If not, check out video footage here (I see you, Lifah!). It wasn’t a game. As many as 300 people came out to enjoy the best cookout and kickback of 2010. Maybe even in the last five years. It was that monumental. Everybody just came out to connect, politic, ditto. I couldn’t have been more happy with how every thing turned out. When The Gee Pee drops, look out for the photos and more video footage from that.
On to the next one, though. And the next one is this weekend at the Donovan House in DC, on the rooftop. BRING OUT THOSE TANKINIS AGAIN, LADIES! Saturday, July 17th. People are coming from hours away for the sake of good times! Do you realize this? Our parties aren’t to stunt. They’re for people to get together and talk, and to inspire and motivate. We don’t even make money like that on these. We just do it for the love, and to break away from the typical “event” where you have promoters yapping to you about bottle service and you’re worried about looking cute for people. Eff all that. This is the real deal, Holyfield. HUGE shout out to Lunchbox Theory for putting this joint together; it’s really them that brought The Gee Pee and YEBies on board, but we will do our best to make sure the mix of people is phenomenal, per usual.
In closing, if you’ve been to any of our (Lunchbox Theory, DC to BC / The Gee Pee, or YEBies) events, then you’ll definitely come through to this joint. If you need to be persuaded, then do some research, ask around. They’ll tell you who throws the trillest stuff in this area. Fall through, we’d love to have you. Click the flier for more info (or here. But how much cooler is clicking the flier, you know?)
It’s free, by the way. Yeah. top that sh!t. I double dog dare you.

On July 23rd, almost two weeks from today, Cleveland’s new king (LeBron dipped, remember?) Chip Tha Ripper will be killing the stage at NYC’s renowned Santos Party House. I know you see that DC to BC logo on the flyer, too. If you’re in the city on 7.23.10, definitely stop by the spot! 18 and up, so don’t think that if you can’t sip legally, don’t worry. You can at least fall through and enjoy a great concert. Great guest DJs, surprise guests, and all around great times. BUY TICKETS HERE! $12 in advance; I highly recommend it, because this joint will sell out.
The SLAB ENT family has embraced us ever since my man Quinn put me on to his tape two years ago and we were one of the first people to blog it. The team works so hard, and I was fortunate enough to see that first-hand over at SXSW a few months ago. Kev (the man behind the scenes – I know he doesn’t like to be mentioned, but he deserves to be!) came to scoop me and we chopped it up. It’s always cool when you take it further than this internet $#!t. Posting stuff is cool, but being an integral part of an artist’s growth from early on in their career is priceless.
Don’t let me get too sappy, though. Come through at like 10ish, Chip goes on at 11! I’ve seen the guy perform a bunch of times, and he’s good. We’ll get some mixtape refreshers up in the coming days to prepare you for this momentous occasion, so don’t worry if you’re not hip yet.

We got another one, folks. Fly Boy Radio presents: Dom, Curren$y, and J. Ferb tonight at Coco Cabana in Hyattsville. TONIGHT, I said!
5.6.10. Doors open at 9pm, and it’s $20 to make it all happen. Dress to impress (whatever that means, right? Sheesh.), and just come out and have a good time with all of us. You coming? I hope so. Buy tickets here, and when you get there, tweet me (@DCtoBC) to tell me you’re in the building. I’ll come find you and dap you up. Not that that is anything exciting, but it’s just me showing my appreciation for your support.
Big shout out to my brother Tobi, as well as the whole Fly Boy Radio staff for orchestrating this. I’m trying to bring like 50+ people out (just me alone), so help me do it! Just in case you have severe ADHD or just missed that earlier link, here’s another one to buy tickets. Or buy them at the door. But they may just sell out…Oh, and for you UMD students, they have shuttles Leaving La Plata Hall at 10:00pm. Please come out and support! AND I KNOW YOU SEE THE GEE PEE on that FLYER!
