damn. it’s been a rough weekend. i got the tape done. it’s been done for about two days now. but i just wasn’t ready to post it on a friday. didn’t feel like it’d hit people as hard, mentally. so i’m releasing it now. one catch though: you gotta e-mail me and get it. hit me, dudes. modi at DCtoBC.com. let me know exactly why you’re interested in the tape – whatever the reason, i’m just curious. it can be anything, a sentence, a paragraph, etc. i wanna hear it. is this weird? kinda. but i’m not every other blog, though. i’m not even like other people, really. so if you really want that tape, send me an e-mail. whatever time of day, and whatever day of the week. i got the mixtape for you.
thanks. and happy valentines day singles awareness day.
edit: i woke up about 17 minutes ago. i had 69 e-mails in my inbox. and like 2/3 of the people who are asking for this mixtape are men. i like that! ha. keep e-mailing, i’m throwing that link your way as soon as i get your e-mails.
edit #2: i don’t know if you all caught it, but if you abbreviate singles awareness day, it’s S.A.D. good grief.
that was the trillest experiment ever. 246 downloads, through e-mail only. the reasons wanting this mix compilation joint varied from just being curious to having their heart ripped out and stomped on by supposed friends with benefits, boo slices, and anything in between. good grief. it was cool to have a personal connection with everybody who really wanted the joint. i enjoyed the e-mails, and i appreciate everybody who checks the blog regularly.
i’ve decided to let anybody and everybody download the mixtape now. click that broken heart above to get it, or the link below. and if for some reason you’re having difficulty unzipping it, e-mail me and i’ll make sure you get it another way, even if i gotta burn it on a CD and hand deliver it like i did last night on campus. trill, man.
it was supposed to drop in september. but i just wasn’t ready for it to be released, so i held on to it. i contemplated dropping it in january after christmas break, but i said nah. but i just realized that college is almost over and i needed to let people know that my experience was incredible, so here it is. my college experience in a mixtape. no joke. everything on this mixtape is something i’ve lived, and you probably feel me on it all, too. shout out to my man sean o’neill for forcing me to throw a post up over the weekend.
my first mix compilation joint that i put up in june. no DJ or anything, just a re-up of some songs in a zip file. the old zshare link died, so i wanted to put it up cuz a bunch of people have been asking me about it. so here it is, back by popular demand. not really popular, but kinda popular. like, a few friends have asked about it. dag.

nyc summer, man. got so cold, i HAD to re-up. funniest clip of all time. internet goon, wzup! catch shawn and darrell, aka the brothers grimm, creeping up in the background.
yerp. mcfly is here. inspiration? lupe fiasco’s “mcfly” and nando mcflyy, a dc native and ferocious wordsmith, both of whom are featured on this. what’s it about? it takes over where the first joint left off. sure it was about that charisma on vol. 1. but now it’s about that swag. they make you ask yourself, “how fly are you?”
and don’t stunt on this compilation, you know don’t have all of these songs. there are classics as well as exclusives on this joint, and everybody can appreciate it.
UPDATE, nov. 13: i heard this joint went down. so i’m re-upping it. everybody should scoop this and jam it. shout out to everybody who got it the first time around. enjoy.

21. slim thugggaaaa – this is my life (the album CLOSER. it just fits, to me.)
still pushing this mixtape. a lot of people told me they really like it, so i just wanted to see if i could get any more people to say the same.
motivational stuff, young. it’s that “keep your head up, slim” type of vibe. i’m pretty sure everybody whose ever needed some inspiration in their life can appreciate this compilation. i hope i hit all emotions with this joint right here, too. pass this on to everybody you know.
shout out to my man smokeyyy for the crucial graphic help.

25 songs that should be played in hover crafts, space shuttles, and deloreans. that’s like a CD and a half. much more eclectic than the other two. you may have heard some, but you probably haven’t heard most. old, new, with a dash of DC in there. tracklisting is insane. don’t be turned off by the amount of names you don’t know. i assure you, this joint is wild. if you don’t think this mix is crucial, let me know. so that i bring more heat next time. but it should be stellar.
if you know any of the artists that are on this joint, throw them the tape. if you need more music from any specific artist, holler at me and i got you.

wow. we wanted to let people know that we’re getting ready to release a podcast. weekly, monthly, video, music, we’re trying it all out. it’ll be finalized soon. but this is just a teaser of the type of crazy stuff that could be on it.
this is nick simmons, the infamous BET intern, ripping and rhyming outside of the club. and much more.
wow. i call this second snippet "slizzard off the goose," and it features the iGoon, the birthday girl, & the brothers grimm. i’m not even in it. just holding the camera.
drake is amazing. the memphis / toronto phenom started his career as an actor on degrassi, and later switched it over to rap. most people you clown when they try that move, but trust me. he’s a beast. i can’t take when great artists get overlooked. too many lames take shine away from artists like drake, so it’s my duty as a internet goon (wzup, ricky) to put on my fellow dukes. i’m not the only person who thinks he’s hot, either. he’s already done tracks with the clipse, mickey factz, lil wayne, travie from gym class heroes, and many others. check him out below.
share (he sings on it. crucial.)

i figured i’d put together a little drake compilation with my favorite joints from him. there are gems in here, trust me! oh, and me and my man produced one of his tracks on the “room for improvement” mixtape, too. ’04 or something like that! believe that! if you like the sampler, i suggest getting your hands on the two mixtapes he has out now, because it only gets better. and if you want to know what he’s about, my people over at PFOP interviewed the young man.
