In this atmosphere, they’re tryna make themselves more pop friendly I guess. People aren’t tryna hear “windows” on the radio. I know this for certain. Pharrell hit it. Chad, too. Maybe the other black dude.

I guess it would definitely change it up a bit, though in my book N*E*R*D doesn’t need that. An additional voice, however, might detract from one of the group’s most important aspects: the Neptunes’ production.

man, i believe a girl is gonna mess up their synergy. i don’t even think she’s die-hard N*E*R*D fan, i just think this is an opportunity for her, and she’s gonna climb over this to get what she really wants, which is prolly a solo career. we all know that if N*E*R*D wanted to get a girl, they’d have kelis in there. i’m just not sure if that video displayed N*E*R*D as a stronger unit with her.

fact of the matter is, skateboard p has that unique voice and is part of the N*E*R*D brand. i’d even rather see collabo’s with people like M.I.A. or santigold, people that are really on that tip. if you go to her myspace page, it’s almost like she’s trying too hard to fit in with the brand. sure, she may be talented (although i haven’t heard any music to be the judge of that), and sure, she’s bad as hell. but N*E*R*D? i’m not gonna hate to hard, but let’s just say this: twitter chit chat has people talkin about how she must have spit game at pharrell and got the gig that way.

i’m just saying tho. plus, they all will make less money. plus, i don’t even really know what shae haley (the other black guy in N*E*R*D besides pharrell) does, and i’m more comfy with him being in the group. it’s part of the brand, like i said.

yeah i feel you. i think, like santigold or MIA, she might be a good person to collaborate with, but thats no reason to put her in the group. Pharrell and Chad always said that N*E*R*D is their means of producing experimental stuff that your everyday pop star wouldnt really like, so its weird that they would put this Rhea girl in all of the sudden. I’m hoping that they remembered how personal N*E*R*D is to them and put a lot of thought into it.

the thing is also pharrell/the neptunes/n.e.r.d/star trak/bbc/ice cream have such a cult following, i dont really think they feel the need to go commercial. like, you really think pharrell is sittin there like “yo, if we dont do some successful shit fast, we’re through.” they are pretty comfy in the game right now i’d say, which would eliminate the need for some new gimmick to give them relevance

that being said, maybe this chick is bringing more to the table than we are giving her immediate credit. or maybe her ass is a spaceship and pharrell just wants to ride. who knows

btw, that ass=spaceship reminded me of a funny but irrelevant moment n.e.r.d entered my life. at the glow in the dark concert in mansfield last year, during their set when they played “she wants to move,” pharrell brought my ex girl on stage, who only attended the concert to spite me, and gave her one glorious piece of ass-palming daggering. he than proceeded to sing the lyrics “hey buster! look at your girl! she loves me!” and im pretty, pretty certain, that he looked in my direction. yea that was a major L on my part.

It’s easy to say she slept her way into the group. That’s what people say about any new pretty female artist introduced by a successful man. It makes you write her off immediately. But I think Pharrel is a professional and wouldn’t jeapordize his success that way. Give her a chance.

i was watching that video posted to this and she look stupid on that stage…like she dont belong there while they are doing the old tracks. as a die hard NERD fan i have to support this choice but im not gunna lie, i wouldnt mind here coming onto the stage after they perform thier old but sick songs then she strolls on for her songs haha sorry but she just looks off on stage
