Alley Oop 500x342 The Oop.

the oop. perhaps one of the greatest plays in basketball. it’s an offensive play in which one player throws the ball near the basket to a teammate who jumps, catches the ball in mid air and immediately scores. for the younger guys/gals, or the boys/girls with no bounce, it’s a lay-up or something. but as you can see in the above picture, ben wallace ain’t just layin that one up. he’s about to put tim duncan on the next best-selling poster with a dunk that slams harder than the storm door back in duncan’s humble virgin islands home.

now, the thing about the oop is that it takes two people, and while everybody sees the dunk, they rarely give credit to the guy who threw the oop. believe it or not, the dunk is the easy part. the hard part is coordinating everything so that the dunk can happen. and as you can see, rasheed wallace (#36 for you non-basketball fans) just threw it perfectly. his timing was impecable, and thus allowed the play to happen.

why am i talking about the oop? because it’s so much more than just basketball, dude. the oop is when you throw someone an opportunity of sorts. it can be professional, like with a referral for a job, or it can be recreational, like telling your girl friend that you have a guy that’d be perfect for her. you’re doing the hard work; your friend just has to grab the oop and slam it down. take that as you will. this post is merely a kind request for more recognition and respect for the oop thrower. there are so many solid oop throwers out there that don’t get enough love! in all walks of life, too. i’m just saying.

so to my oop throwers – keep throwing them – as long as you have confidence in the other party involved – and in due time you will get the love you deserve, if it hasn’t already happened. and to those who catch oops? don’t let the oop throwers down, because that coordination and timing is all done in vain otherwise. have the same amount of confidence as denver broncos’ wide receiver (and VA representer) eddie royal, who once said this:

“if you throw it at me, you know i’ma catch it.”

yep. so just think for a bit. if this was over your head, then i don’t know what to tell you. cuz it’s just more of this coming. can’t just give you music; that shit is boring, and every other site out there does that. this is the determining factor right here, the creative content. like i said, more coming soon.
