these days, when somebody mentions mobile, alabama and hip hop in the same sentence, we tend to associate city with the oh-so-skeletal rich boy. but let’s take it back to when the notorious mr. bigg was the face of that city, and his gangsta ways, both on the mic and off, made him the one of the most respected hood n****s of his era, word to gorilla Z-O. in fact, the guy is so hood, he got shot in the eye during a botched robbery in 2004, and instead of eye-patching it, he put a $100,000 diamond in that bad boy. nuff sed. listen to this classic, “trial time”, about how he’s one step ahead of the feds at all times, evading them left and right.

mr. bigg isn’t necessarily all in the spotlight these days, but you’ve definitely heard him if you’re a three 6 mafia or project pat fan, as he sang the hook on songs like “poppin’ my collar” (from three 6’s most known unknowns) and “tell, tell, tell” (project pat’s cook by da book: the fed story).
