i jam electronica-esque stuff much more than hip hop these days, so it’s only right that i provide you with some of what has been keeping me satisfied for the past few months.
hey champ. yeah, that’s right. these chicago-based DJs have been jamming so hard that they got fellow chi-town representer lupe fiasco’s attention. mr. fiasco quickly signed them to his 1st and 15th imprint, and now that they’re associated with the trillest rapper in the industry, i feel obliged to spread the good word. ha, i kid. but really, they’re very impressive. i could definitely hear these guys getting some love at some vicious underground party spots like MJQ in atlanta or middlesex in boston. i’m throwing you one sample. for more jams, hit their MySpace. if you need even more in your life, e-mail me, i’ll throw you some more jams.

Hey Champ is dope. Feels good to know I’m not the only one who thinks so (and knows who they are).
Anyways, Lupe is definitley making some moves. I can see Hey Champ being one of the forefront artists in the increasingly popular electronica-rock genre. They’ve already been deemed worthy by Justice, so its probably only a matter of time until they really they start making a name for themselves. Provided of course that Lupe does his job and markets them properly. What do you think?
Sidenote: You MUST post “Cold Dust Girl” + Video. “In the White City” is good, but “Cold Dust Girl” is SO MUCH BETTER.
