RIP mr. myiagi. i actually teared up when i read about his death. and who didn’t hate on forrest? he had worse luck in his life than michael jordan in vegas, and still made it out alive. incredible story. shout out to lieutenant dan.
4. stephen curry, shooting guard for the davidson wildcats. i didn’t know who this guy was until i saw this year’s NCAA tourney games. his swag is impeccable. he’s humble. he did things i didn’t even think were possible for a guy his size, and he took an unknown team farther than anybody else would have thought. his wikipedia entry does him justice, but his youtube highlights are just bonkers. nobody should be able to legally hit 3′s from that deep. that’s like, abyss deep.

2. barack obama, illinois senator and leading democratic candidate for president, ’08-’12. if you frequent the blog, you’ve seen some of the many haters and doubters he’s got. and who would of thought it, huh. grew up with no father. dabbled in the party life as a teen. took a chill pill, got his life together, and started making power moves. he’s (relatively) young, black, and living in america. odds against him like sh!t. but his willpower, his infectious personality, and his charisma puts him in the lead. he all but bumped hillary out of the picture. plus, the man can BALL! and he recently stopped smoking, too. great work, sir.
1. rocky, from rocky I – V & rocky balboa. nobody believed, except him, pauly, and adrian. and he came through in the clutch. sometimes, even when you lose, you win. the movie poster for the oscar-winning original hung in the middle of my dorm room last year.

Nice collection of underdogs you got there buddy…my underdog, and at the time he was, is Dennis Rodman. The bad boy of the NBA on the best team in the NBA with one of the best players of all time. The Zen Master, Phil Jackson, just told the man to get rebounds, hustle, and leave it on the floor. He was 6’8″ and always guarded the best post player on the team because Luc wasn’t doing that much on the defensive end. Imagine giving someone the chance to just rebound and outlet to the world’s best player, pippen, kerr, or harper. Also there is a need to point out that fans began to love him because of his outrageous run ins with the referees, colorful hairdos, and numerous tattoos. The question remains in whether he would be able to survive under the Stern regime that is present in today’s National Basketball Association. Is there such a bad boy today that we respect as the underdog and give props to at the same time in the NBA? Hmmm…Rasheed maybe, but his bald spot is horrendous. Dennis Rodman is my underdog hero. throughout high school, i was definitely number 3, son. lol.um…Canibus in the LL battle, hell of the underdog. myself in June ’08 (droppin a mixtape in the same month as X.O., NandoMcFlyy., and Azizi Gibson…wtf was i thinkin?)uh…Jesus. i mean, come on, we all know his story and how that turned out. if he’s not a great underdog, who is?there’s more, but i’m having a mental block as i eat my Ramen noodle sandwich.

I would have personally bumped the Rocky character down quite a bit after the 1990 miscarriage, commonly referred to as Rocky V, and the 2006 abortion, Rocky Balboa. Plus, Sly Stallone is a fucking asshole according to Anthony Kiedis who worked with him in 1978′s F.I.S.T playing his son in a dinner table scene. How about the 1980 US Olympic hockey team? Or Jimmy Carter in 1976? Or Buster Douglas? Or Da’ Tara?

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players.
